Technical Support Analyst (Mainframe - Db2)

Your tasks:

  • Deliver expert-level technical support for BMC's mainframe offerings, particularly in z/OS Db2 contexts
  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and implement sustainable fixes or effective workarounds
  • Install, configure, and test BMC solutions, reproducing customer issues when needed to speed up resolution and QA verification
  • Document detailed support interactions, diagnostic an troubleshooting steps, and solutions in internal systems to expand our knowledge base
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and R&D to escalate and resolve intricate product issues
  • Review and contribute to the improvement of technical documentation to ensure clarity and usefulness for both users and team members

Requirements:

  • Around 3-4 years of hands-on experience in a mainframe setting, focusing on z/OS Db2 administration or system-level programming
  • Proven ability to support production systems, diagnose complex problems, and understand the software development process
  • Familiarity with key mainframe tools such as TSO, ISPF, REXX, Clist, and standard utilities
  • Strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and a passion for solving problems
  • A meticulous, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or in distributed teams
  • A desire to learn, grow, and contribute ideas that lead to innovative solutions
